Highest Quality Dental Bridges, Crowns & Veneers
The quality of porcelains in dental bridges, crowns, and veneers continues to improve. Whether it is used to close an open space, splint teeth together, or to reshape or color an existing tooth, the properties of today’s porcelain makes it an ideal material.
When there’s a missing tooth or teeth, bridgework used to consist of a metal framework, covered by either acrylic or baked-on porcelain. Though it was fairly reliable, the metal often showed, either at the gumline or in areas where the porcelain got thin or even fractured. Today, those bridges can be reliably fabricated out of Zirconium, a type of porcelain that is not only very strong but also esthetic.

Individual crowns, which are similar to veneers but go circumferentially around the teeth, can also be made from Zirconium, though porcelain restorations made of E-max or Empress tend to be a little more lifelike. Feldspathic veneers are still the “gold standard” when it comes to esthetics, but these restorations can be brittle.
