Wendy and I recently returned from the AACD (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry) meeting in Washington, D.C. Not only were the courses outstanding, but we got to see our new grandson, Owen and his parents in Alexandria, Virginia.

The continuing education classes at the AACD meeting focused on the latest techniques in both general and cosmetic dentistry, with an emphasis on making the patient experience as enjoyable – yes, enjoyable! – as possible. Suggestions on improving the experience included such things as digital x-rays and impressions, a refreshment area in the reception room along with an Apple I-pad to sign in with and to check e-mail, flat-screen televisions, and noise-deadening headphones. We were so pleased to know that we have had these items available for our patients for many years, with upgrades whenever necessary.
