We want to salute our patient, Ms. Liz Lindecke, for her outstanding work in putting together the 13th annual “Scott Hamilton Cares Initiative” for the Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute. My wife Wendy and I were in attendance, and the evening was simply spectacular, from the skating exhibition at the Quicken Loans arena (with Wynonna Judd providing the musical entertainment) to the dinner dance held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. Skaters and attendees featured the 13 United States Olympic gold medalists, including Dorothy Hamill, Peggy Fleming, Brian Boitano, and Dick Button. Interestingly (at least to me), they all had beautiful smiles, especially Kristi Yamaguchi, whose father is a dentist!!!
Most importantly, they have raised millions of dollars for the fight against cancer. Wendy and I were glad to be a small part of this effort and encourage those of you who have been affected in any way by this terrible disease (and that’s just about everyone, unfortunately) to consider a contribution to this worthwhile cause; you can contact Liz, the “Initiatives” director, at 216-445-0099, or visit the Cleveland Clinic website, www.scottcares.org.
